Turners Oak isn't a typical estate agent because our clients aren't typical home sellers. Many of our clients have lived in their current home for over 30 years.
Our homes form part of our identity, especially when we have created memories in them over many years. At the same time circumstances in later life can mean that considering a move becomes necessary.
Moving to a new home - perhaps in a more favourable location, with a more suitable layout, or with support closer to hand - often results in an improved quality of life and enjoyment for our clients. For others, making amendments to the current home - whilst also getting information and advice so they can prepare for a potential move in the future - is what's best. But how do you make that decision? Where do you start?
That's where Turners Oak comes in. We provide consultative, empathetic and pragmatic advice so that you and your loved ones can make informed decisions that are right for you - whether that's making a move or not.
We are proud to be affiliated with The Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) and always act with honesty and integrity, adhering to our codes of conduct.
One of the services we offer that we feel most proud of and where we see great value for our clients is the opportunity to simply have a conversation.
When you've not moved for many years and are perhaps navigating the prospect of moving alone or are looking for advice on behalf of a family member, being given the opportunity to simply ask questions and have a conversation can feel like a weight has been lifted.
Many of our clients have lived in their current home for over 30 years. They have a sense that they may need to start considering a move but don't know where to start and don't want to feel pressurised.
Our Home Review service is designed to be empowering. It provides practical and considered information and advice so that you can remain in control of your current and future chapters - whether that's staying in your current home or making a move.
Our consultancy service provides empathetic and practical support and advice as you prepare for a move or prepare to sell the home of a loved one.
Think of us like a professional extension of your family. We understand and respect the emotional aspects of preparing to sell whilst also ensuring we make progress with the practical aspects required to be ready to market your home.
If and when the time comes to sell your home, either yourself or on behalf of a loved one, we offer a full estate agency service delivered in a way that works for you and your individual circumstances.
We provide everything that you would expect form a traditional estate agent whilst adapting our processes around you and always keeping you informed and in control.
If your timescales or circumstances mean that you require a more secure sale we have options for that too.
Where do I start? What are my options? How can I stay in control? What's the process? Do I need to do anything to my home to make it ready for sale? What if I don't want to move right now? What options are available for a new home? These are the kind of questions we help you answer.
Considering a move in later life can often involve family members or representatives. Some family members are far away and often juggling their own homes and careers and so can't be as on hand as they would like. Our ways of working and technology ensure everyone is kept updated and involved in a way that works for them (with our clients permission or with relevant attorney powers).
A home is a significant asset and plays a fundamental part of financial planning and estate planning in later life. We work with financial advisors and private client solicitors to offer a holistic service to clients. We are a SOLLA affiliate and follow guidance from Solicitors for the Elderly.
Moving into a care home is often at a point of crisis. We provide timely, empathetic, practical and solutions-based advice to clients and their families when they need to sell a home because of a move into a care home.
Often it is the idea of leaving the current home that clients most struggle with - emotionally, practically and logistically - when considering a move into a later living home. We work with later living home providers to offer a complete moving solution focused on making lives better.
There are many organisations - both NFPs and For Profits - working with those in later life. From equity release companies to home care providers and organisations like The Centre for Ageing Better. We value being part of this sector and believe that by working collaboratively together we can make lives better.
